Total Eclipse of the…Moon
I know, I know, we probably aren’t the first ones to make such a terrible (awesome?) pun about the eclipse the other night. While we’re not proud of our bad jokes, we are elated to bring you some incredible photos of the lunar eclipse as it was seen by Jaime OBradovich in Omaha on the winter solstice. Jaime is a filmmaker and photographer known around Omaha for his work with Torchwerks. He was kind enough to share some of his photos with Omahype, as well as a few words about the experience. Enjoy!
I often go out to shoot interesting astronomic events like comets, meteor showers or Blue moons. So when I realized there was a lunar eclipse I was excited to have a chance to photograph it. My daughter Zoe and I were all set to get in the car and drive out 15-20 minutes to escape the city lights of Omaha but luckily to our surprise we had a perfectly clear sky and even better we could see the moon from our balcony of our 5th floor apt. So it was a great night of hanging out and watching the shadow of the earth cover the moon. I was fun to experience such a large show with my daughter.

If that wasn’t enough excitement for you, we’ll leave you with this: Hurra Tornado, the Norwegian self-proclaimed “world’s leading kitchen appliance rock group” (there’s more than one!?), performing their own version of “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Thanks, Internet!
