Flowers From Xalapa

This past weekend the annual Cathedral Flower Festival came and went at St. Cecilia’s. A collaboration with the Omaha Sister Cities Association, this year’s theme sent visitors on a journey to Xalapa, Mexico–naturally an official sister city of Omaha. Live performances, music (did someone say didgeridoo and mountain dulcimer music?) and more than forty floral displays transformed the already-beautiful cathedral into a feast for the senses.

Along those lines, Omahype contributor Sarah DaCorta was sure to note how these pictures alone don’t do the show justice–it was those wafting flowery scents that made every display truly different and interesting.

After leaving his post as managing editor at an Omaha alt-weekly in 2010, Will decided that everything he does career-wise from now on must involve music or writing and hopefully both. He's currently the editor at Omahype, an amateur cartoonist and also plays in rock 'n' roll bands.
