MONDAY, APRIL 4th-SUNDAY, APRIL 10th, 2011
Three quick things this week:
First, some of you may have noticed we posted a little something last Friday about us becoming a subscription-based website starting in May. Please disregard that post – it was only an April Fools Day prank. Sorry to jab y’all in the ribs, well at least those of you who bought it!
Second, since it finally looks like it’s going to stay warm for more than one day, I encourage you to get out and ride your bicycle. You’d be surprised how easy it is to get around town on a decent bike. Sometimes it’s just as fast (or faster) than driving. Plus you get exercise, and get to really breathe in the beautiful spring air. Come on, at least think about it!

My bike.
Third, a little self-aggrandizing here, a book that I wrote an essay for is now available to the masses for purchase. It’s called “Children of Mercy: Tales and Teachings from the World of Independent Music” and can be bought at Amazon.com. Dozens of musicians, label owners, music journalist et al from all over the world contributed to the project, including fellow Nebraskan Christopher B of Series II Records and Matt Beat, a former Omaha resident and man behind indie pop band Electric Needle Room. Oh, and 100% of proceeds from the book go Cystic Fibrosis npo’s in the US and UK.
