Powerful Science album release @ The Bourbon Theatre: 6/16/11

WORDS/PHOTOS: Shannon Claire

Powerful Science’s new album Super Doomy was released last Thursday, June 16th at the Bourbon Theatre in Lincoln. With help from their fellow Lincolnite friends Well-Dressed Man Disguise, Dirty Diamonds and special guests Deerpeople (from Stillwater OK), it was an all night affair of good friends, acquaintances, fans and a free keg of Bud (provided just for the guests by the band, a good ploy if I say so myself).

Their new album, produced/recorded/mixed by Darren Keen of The Show is the Rainbow and mastered by Chris Johnson, proves to follow through with their eccentric pop sounds that you just can’t help but move to. Super Doomy is a nine track album, yet it’s packed with sounds ranging from eclectic pop waves to some awesome short punk riffs mixed with some great vocals and other melodies to get you throwing yourself all over the place.

You can have a listen of Super Doomy at the Powerful Science Bandcamp page. And I guarantee by the third track you’ll be ready to spend $4 to download the album. You can also follow them on Facebook to check out when they’ll be playing next.

Powerful Science is:
Joshua Miller
Peter Kapinos
John Freidel
