Market West Photo Contest!
To celebrate the launch of its new website as well raise community-wide awareness of its existence, the Market West Neighborhood Alliance is hosting a photography contest. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to enter. The more creative and out-of-the-box the better (i.e. enter postcard-esque shots at your own risk).
Prizes include a one night stay at the Magnolia Hotel, gift certificates to Hiro 88 and tickets to see a December perforce of Cirque Mechanics Boom Town. Entries accepted through November 1st, 2011.
For those who don’t know, Market West is a neighborhood just west of the Old Market, between South 13th and South 17th streets and Howard Street to just south of Leavenworth. The Neighborhood Alliance aims to “create a unique, urban oasis in the heart of downtown Omaha,” according to their website, and features already-thriving businesses such as Delinea Design, BVH Architects and the Magnolia Hotel as tenants.

More info (vía Market West Neighborhood Alliance):
Photo entries will be reviewed by the Market West Neighborhood Alliance Executive Board through a blind submission process. One (1) first place photo will be selected and the photographer contacted. First prize includes: One night stay at the Magnolia Hotel, a $50 gift certificate to Hiro 88 and two (2) tickets to one of Omaha Performing Arts‘ Family performances – Cirque Mechanics Boom Town on Friday, December 2, 2011. The winning photo, along with the board’s top picks will be featured in a special gallery on the Market West website (each photo will include the photographer’s name and will not be used for any additional promotional purposes without permission from the photographer).
