Les Femmes Folles
The new Peerless Gallery in Midtown Crossing has what should be an awesome show on July 22nd. The show features female artists Wanda Ewing and Kim Reid Kuhn as well as music by Rene Gosch’s band Blue Rosa. From the press release:
“Artist Wanda Ewing teams up with painter Kim Reid Kuhn to curate a “pop-up” exhibit of work solely by Nebraska women artists. Ewing, who just returned from an artist residency in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a tenured professor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and has her work examining race and femininity in collections worldwide. Kuhn is an up-and-coming expressionist mixed-media painter who is also a renown curator of shows around the region, and runs art classes out of her home studio. The two aim to “go big” for this one-day only feature-event, creating work in the Peerless space in the weeks prior, exclusively for the show.”
