OFF: “Zones | Mitchell Dose”

Recent works by Minneapolis-based artist Mitchell Dose are featured at the November exhibit at Peerless Gallery at Midtown Crossing. Dose’s work seeks to play with the function of an object, and challenge the purpose of habitual behavior, among other things.

For “Zones,” Dose takes a look at “places of purpose from multiple angles and what is considered as possible,” according to a release.

More info (courtesy Peerless Gallery):

Mitchell Dose creates work that plays with the function of an object, the purpose of a place or the habits within a situation. The works serve as an outlet for remediated potential; plaster is poured into marginal spaces, birds are offered a place to rest, a fence is heard singing. Covering a cross spectrum between directly useful and merely theoretical, and between abstraction and engineering, the works manifest as objects, drawings, performances and video.

In “Zones,” Dose examines places of purpose from multiple angles and what is considered as possible.
