Yeah and they haves songs that make you dance. That said, the minds behind House of Loom once again hosts this sure-to-be-on-fire party. Early arrival is highly suggested. (Yes this is on a Sunday but it's the next day is Memorial Day so you can go out, mmkay?)

About loom's MJ vs Prince:

⏏ Come to Dance / Celebrate Diversity ⏏
Music selections by Brent Crampton & G3

⏏⏏⏏⏏ MJ vs Prince ⏏⏏⏏⏏
On the Sunday before Memorial Day eve, we figured the best way to throw an insane party would be to bring back our MJ vs Prince theme. We don’t take the MJ vs Prince controversy seriously. But what we do take seriously is that each artist has had an immense contribution to not only our culture, but most likely has been the soundtrack to many moments in our lives. And that’s what we’re celebrating on this night.

We’ll have Brent Crampton representing MJ while Omaha’s biggest Prince enthusiast, G3 covers all the Prince essentials. We’ll also indulge in artists influenced by MJ & Prince, as well as music from the same era.

Howard, a young Omaha-based band fronted by the artfully-dressed Anna McClellan, are readying the release of their debut album sometime later this summer. In anticipation, they've released a video for the track "Somebody Help Me."

It was produced by local filmmaker Patrick Geske, who, in an email, said the video is inspired both narratively and stylistically by the conventions of the silent film genre. "I watched 'The Artist' earlier this year, and started thinking about music videos as a contemporary take on silent films."

The song, driven by McLellan's straightforward piano playing and souring vocals, touches on feelings that surround trying to figure someone out. Sure, we're all complicated people -- we can agree on that -- but what do you really mean when you say those things? Won't somebody help me?

It's simple and powerfully honest. Enjoy this amazing new video from one of Omaha's most promising young acts.

Anyway, pobably the greatest thing about Well Aimed Arrows (well, besides their music) is their bio, reminiscent of the copy you'd read on the back of vinyl jackets of yore.

Check it out:

Get your dancing shoes out, music fans! Here comes one of Omaha’s most exciting combos, the Well Aimed Arrows! Consisting of members of seminal Omaha groups the Protoculture and the 72 Pin Connection this group has that fresh alternative sound that kids have been clamoring about for twenty years — reminiscent as they are of perennial favorites R.E.M., The Replacements, and the always-relevant Polvo. WAA’s leader is Koly, who plays drums, sings, and is the group’s ladies’ man. He is also the shortest member of WAA. Michelle and Clayton Petersen (vocals and guitar, respectively) are the dynamic husband-wife duo that lends the band any dignity it has at all, not to mention melody. And then there’s Brian, the group prankster and the tallest member of WAA. He plays bass — and the field, girls. Won’t you join Well Aimed Arrows for a night of music, drink, and gaiety?

Great American Desert's bio:

The calm, boring life of a small Midwestern town drove Max Holmquist to pick up a guitar at the age of 15. Four years later, South of Lincoln started in 2006 as his solo project. Starting with a post-punk/emo sound in the vein as Juliana Theory, Saves the Day, etc. somewhere along the line his style shifted with his personal musical tastes. With the introduction of Alt/Folk from people like Damien… Jurado, Neko Case, M.
